迷思
遠走他方, 或多或少也有新發現, 還有幾個解不開的問題:1) 點解西班牙D靚仔唔見晒?拉丁、Mediterranean Europe不是以型男索女聞名麼?(失望 >_> )
2) 點解西班牙食物咁鹹?因為天氣熱?
3) 西班牙皇宮前的警察, 頭上的怪帽子究竟for what?(見下圖)
4) 點解香港有些洋式村屋/獨立屋又叫「西班牙式」? 西班牙的住宅明明不是這樣的……

i don't know the answers of your questions but the last one.
Garda (singular), or Gardai (plural), is a gaelic word. They don't call themselves 'police' because police were the men who killed Irish during the uprising. That's why they don't call themselves police. They don't use the name of the people who killed their national heroes.
(ps. i think i told you before. and in fact some months ago i said it in toffeeland. haha.)
Des - I still remember the "historial event" that you told me abt why they don't call themselves "police" but "garda". However, what I really don't know and wanna dig out is if there's any legend/myth behind the name. It just sounds very Star War...u know...

可能當年「發明」西班牙別墅的創始人認為西班人所住的樓很有格調，才借名演繹。
咁都比你搵到樓盤傳真既相，勁。
